Represents Katrina Campins in Matter Involving Sale of Shakira’s Miami Home

Accomplished businesswoman, celebrity realtor and television personality, Katrina Campins, is responding to recent reports that Grammyaward winning recording artist, Shakira, “canned” Campins as her real estate agent in connection with the sale of Shakira’s Miami Beach home. According to The Campins Company, Katrina Campins maintains a great working relationship with Shakira and her team and has the utmost regard for her as a woman and businessperson.
“It is a common misconception that public figures, such as Katrina, have no legal recourse against parties who make false and defamatory statements against them, especially when it relates to the individual’s profession. This could not be further from the truth.”
Since Campins respects the confidentiality of her clients, she has elected to not comment on the facts surrounding these false reports but has been given approval to confirm that The Campins Company was successful in securing a direct buyer to purchase the property after one day on the market, however due to the closing time frame, it didn’t work out for either party.
Campins is disappointed that other realtors, real estate brokerage firms and ‘gossip’ writers would attempt to tarnish her reputation in the hopes of elevating their own status. Campins noted that, “at The Campins Company, our agents rely on their credentials rather than a person’s notoriety to develop marketing strategies.” Campins has elected instead to speak through her legal representative, New York based entertainment attorney, Frank C. Salzano, Esq. (former clients include Michael Jackson, Lil’ Kim, Evander Holyfield) who has stated that Campins has not ruled out initiating formal legal action against those parties responsible for the false reports unless a retraction is made. Salzano states, “It is a common misconception that public figures, such as Katrina, have no legal recourse against parties who make false and defamatory statements against them, especially when it relates to the individual’s profession. This could not be further from the truth.” Lastly Salzano noted that “no further comments will be made regarding this matter by my client or any of her representatives.”
